I think I hit the Jackpot....

Ok, so after winning the big PAFA giveaway I thought things couldn't get any better but then I got a phone call.... My brother in law was given access to an old home that is being burned down. He thought my husband and I would like some of the stuff inside. So we went to take a look and we are now the proud owners of 9 or 10 solid old wood doors, a beautiful large wooden door with a paned window on top(love this door) a box full of porcelin doorknobs with the original locks and skeleton key. Old porch railings, old picket fence and so much more... I am not sure what to do with it all but I just couldn't see it all buring in a fire.

so many door knobs
and the doors, there are large ones like this but then there are smaller ones that are about 4 1/2' maybe 5' tall, so cute.

I will have to take pictures of the other door... and all the other goodies.....then everyone can give me suggestions on what to do with all of it.
Have a great weekend

Sabrina,

Wow! Old doors. Do you do any craftshows? You could use them for displays. Such a shame to burn the building down but I'm sure it will be cheaper than restoring to start all over.

Have you seen the potting benches and hall trees and hall benches made with old doors? You could use the knobs as hooks on the hall trees and picket fencing for the sides of some of the benches...the ideas are endless. I have a towel hanger in my bathroom made with those same doorknobs. Use it daily.

so I spent all day yesterday hauling out so much stuff from this house... doors, fire place mantels (dated on the back sept 8 1911) big multipane window, and the door to match, some old wood, lots of old hardware... I brought my camera with me but got so excited to get it all, I forgot to take pictures. We stored it all in the garage so I will have to take some as I get to it. Cathy, love the idea about hall benches with the doors....I am going to have to google that.
Happy Monday

Oh wow girl, that is so awesome!! The possibilities are endless with what you can do with all those pieces. Glad you rescued it all from a fire and giving it a good home. Goodness... I'm overwhelmed just thinking about it all, I can only imagine how your mind must be swimming, haha!
